Spray Painting
I came across a few issues when using the spray paint
When using paper and masking tape
The paper can rip
And where I used the tape on some places you can see where the spray has gone around it
Using the paper stencils are easier on the fabric rather than on paper and the paper rips
This is on paper and you can see the marks where it has got ripped and where the tape was
However this is the exact same stencil on fabric
Looks much better
I like the way some of the spray has gone under the stencil
And love the gradient from yellow to black

Starting the Project, Drawing inspiration
Katharine Hamnett
Initial Inspiration came from Katharine Hamnett and her punchy t-shirts. Her politicaly eye catching and thought provoking ideas link in perfectly with my Indonesian experience and the Women's rights groups I met.

New Project
After being away for 3 weeks swanning off to Indonesia I have now got back to real life with a bump today. I went back to university for the first time since I left. And had one day to decided on my project which everyone else has had a while longer. But no worries. I have decided to link my new project, Which is based on the 80's and fashion in Britain in the 80's.
So I have decided to do a Campaign for Women's rights. With inspiration from Katharine Hamnett and her thought provoking t-shirts. So I will design and produce my own range of t-shirts and ethical promotion materials... Very exciting!
Diary Entry Sunday 20th October
'We arrived in Jakarta 6 hours Late and the driver didn't show up'
'The
hotel is fantastic and I had the longest shower, After not having Slept
or changed or anything since Friday Night, It was much needed. We
popped next door for dinner, I wasn't that hungry, But I thought, Its
okay I can just sit and not eat, Yeh Right!'
'Well I have never experienced dinner quite like that'
'No choice, I was given dinner, we sat down and the food was plonked in front of us, weird'
'Amazing food'
'I am really struggling because I am soo tired, It was hard too keep conversation going when we are all so jet lagged'
Indonesia!
Hello!
I have started going through my Diary from when I was away.
The
first line of the first page...' I have just got off the most
uncomfortable flight ever... over 13 hours of ass aching... not to
mention the hideous toilet at Kuala Lumpur Airport... '
Not a great start
It gets better...'We have arrived in Jakarta... The hotel is fantastic... I have never experienced a dinner quite like that...'
First experience of Indonesia, Fish heads and Rcie, This should have been an idea of what was to come for the next 2 weeks.
This is my fantastic Hotel Room, I was told to make the most of this as It was going to get basic!
